Thesis lifestyle is an environment like no other in Soweto. As a brand, Thesis lifestyle aims to progress the youth of Soweto through this space that encompasses a pop-up space, clothing store and event space. The slogan “define yourself” is all about making people seek to empower themselves in their own way.
I had to a rebel on this rebrand, for I felt really strong about the brand. The brief spoke a lot about using the Soweto towers as an icon/supporting graphic for the logo. I felt that was not really a good approach because every brand from Soweto would try to incorporate that landmark in one way or another. Making it more cliche.
One of the landmarks, in the same location as the Thesis Concept Store, been burnt down and the new logo would serve as a tribute to this landmark. 5 Roses in Mofolo, Soweto
After designing the logo.
I created the first batch of the "Phiri& Mapetla& Zola& Mdeni" t-shirts.
